I just finished a conversation with my daughter, Favor. We were talking about her son, Ezekiel (Zeekers) She is a great mom! She has amazing wisdom and insight. She said…” Dad… Do you know what I want for Zeke when he grows up? I want him to be happy! I want him to enjoy his life! Who am I to tell him what he does and does not enjoy. How could I judge him… based on what I enjoy… or like… or believe to be right or wrong. I want him to live at the tree of Life… not at the tree of good & evil… “ We went on… going back and forth… talking about how ridiculous it would be to reject him… or ignore him… or hurt him… based on rules we, ourselves, had made to be the standard, by which, we measured him!!! I am sooo sorry the Church has become some sort of “Barney Fife” deputy… running around with little authority and less firepower! We try to convince people that we know the right way…. and, that they must walk in it. Interestingly enough… we use the Bible to try and prove our points… knowing, full well, that any point can be made and/or enforced… using the Bible! Certainly the Bible is inspired… but, the true inspiration lies in the heart of the reader… not in the paper and ink. After seeing the hundreds of errors, mistranslations and contradictions… I am more comfortable calling the Bible…”Man’s Inspired Word About God!” God is everywhere… and in all things! I have come to know Him… and love Him… in spite of His Bible and His people!

When the religious folk brought the woman… the whore to Jesus… John chapter 8… they quoted the Bible to Jesus. Their Bible, the Law of Moses… the books of Moses… said this woman should be stoned until dead. “What say ye?” they asked Jesus. He stooped down and began to draw in the sand (Crushed Stones). God drew on a stone tablet… Jesus drew in soft, pliable sand. Moses Law was steadfast… Jesus’ law was pliable… changeable… versatile… After this demonstration…. Jesus said, “whoever has no sin… let him cast the first stone.” They all dropped their accusations… stones… laws…. and left only the woman and God. Let me ask you… who, there, was truly without sin? Jesus! He is the only one who had a right to “Cast the first stone!” and… what was the first stone??? THE LAW OF MOSES! Jesus cast away the law… and GONE were all of the voices of accusation! “From the oldest… (the voice of an uncle or grandfather, maybe) to the youngest (maybe a friend…) with the law gone… there was no breaking of the law. Sin is transgression of the law. Do the math! NO law… NO transgression… NO sin!!!!! “Where are your accusers?” He asked her. “No one is here to condemn me, Lord.” and I love these words from Jesus… “Neither do I condemn you…. go and sin no more.” and…. that was easy!!! Because Jesus had cast… the first stone!!! Cast away your “stone” like a frisbee… live by the law that is written in your heart… forgive all of the “Barney Fife’s” in your life… and enjoy yourselves… this is the will of God! Have fun Zeekers!!!
